This smells like my childhood! Going to the Sari Sari to get "the good coke in the glass bottle". Candies. Ice candy. I miss my trips to the Philippines, the US could never lol.
ORANGE TANGGGGGGG. OMG I havenβt heard that in such a long time!! Iβve only had the coconut ones, now I feel like Iβm missing out lol! I keep trying to ask my mom how to make them and she keeps changing her recipe and itβs driving me crazy lol.
you can make ice candies out of any deink flavor! π I'd prolly make a mess and waste a lot before i get to make a propwr one but OMG YOU SHOULD TRY ORANGE TANG ICE CANDIES BAHAHA ππ€€
No way! Our ancestral home has a spot in the front dedicated to being a sari-sari store. It used to be so alive. But since my grandparents are no longer around, it's now just a carcass of a sari-sari store. Makes for a good village ghost story tho π»
Beautifully told. The sari-sari store isnβt just commerce β itβs culture in motion.
thank youfor reading, PJ! ππ΅π

My grandparents rented a part of their house to a sari-sari store. As far as I know itβs still there.
